Uncover the naturally intuitive, creative being within
I believe that every human being has an innate capacity to heal and to develop their full potential.
And I also recognise that our life experiences can throw us off balance, particularly those that cause us pain and confusion.
My intention is to create a compassionate environment where you feel resourced enough to accept and release past issues, build presence in the moment and step forward to implement the decisions that are right for you.
My focus is on helping you uncover the naturally intuitive, creative being within so you can navigate your life in healthy, vibrant and wholehearted ways.
I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.

Therapy
I am a professionally qualified member of the IACP (Irish Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists) and work from an Integrative Person-Centred approach to therapy. This approach draws upon a wide variety of counselling and psychotherapy models and focuses on meeting the person where they are in the moment, with their individual needs and experiences.
I completed my therapy training in 2009 and believe in a holistic and wholehearted approach, one that looks on each person as a whole being with an innate tendency to develop their full potential, and recognise that this can be blocked or thwarted by some of our life experiences.
Giving yourself space to therapeutically explore issues can reduce stress and provide an opportunity for growth and change at a deep level. The focus is on supporting you to connect with your authentic self so that the difficulties that are being experienced can be explored in a clear and helpful way.
Movement Therapy
Movement Therapy focuses on sensitively including the body, as well as thoughts and feelings, in a safe therapeutic space.
As humans, we have a mind, and we live in a body. But most of us tend to spend a lot more time in our thinking minds than we do being present in our body. As a result, our mind-body connection can feel off, making life feel out of balance.
Movement therapy helps us to tune into and listen to what is being said by both our body and mind. The mind speaks in thoughts/inspirations, and the body voice communicates through sensations, the physical energy of our feelings and the way we move.
Working with our breath and simple movement practices can increase awareness, strengthen the mind-body connection, release stress and enhance well being. And because the insight you receive during a session is deeply rooted in the body, it brings you increased understanding, self trust and awareness.
I trained as a movement therapist in 2008 with Andrea Juhan (founder of Open Floor movement and Therapy-in-Motion) and draw on my earlier training in body work, ritual and energy medicine to support embodiment of heart / womb, mind and soul.
Somatic Healing
Somatic healing invites you to listen and follow the sensations and guidance of the body, to learn simple skills to regulate your nervous system and become effective at stabilising your thoughts and emotional experience.
It calms the body and settles the mind, helps to integrate traumatic experiences and shares practices that will resource your daily life. Through the somatic connection, the intuitive voice emerges to guide you on how to resolve an issue or challenge you are working with.
We are used to thinking and trying to understand with our minds, but we are not used to listening to the body or trusting its wisdom. These modalities are educational and empowering for everyone, and the skills you gain along the way become valuable resources for life.
"I have attended Carol’s Embodied movement workshops over the years. The integrity of her work is exceptional.
The safety she creates and the depth she brings helps me to explore, remember and integrate lost aspects of myself and for that I am truly grateful.
Her work is inspiring, sacred, filled with heart and a deep understanding of and ability to work with the dimensions of the human shadow."
Jacqueline Feely, Craniosacral Therapist & Embodied Movement Facilitator
"There is always a warm, welcoming and safe atmosphere at each event, and every time I arrive I feel so blessed to have this space to rest and move and revive my spirit through music and dance.
Carol is a great teacher and gently guides the group through a healing process that has many layers and depths but also lightness and fun. She is very skilled at holding the group energetically and making it possible for each individual to move at their own pace.
So yes, I would encourage anyone who wants to journey towards deeper understanding of self love, compassion and healing to attend a workshop with Carol."
